The problem
Blooms Academy wanted a single platform where students, teachers, and administrators could manage the complete IELTS preparation journey — from practice to assessment to live instruction — instead of stitching together separate tools.
Key decisions
I treated the exam clock as the product. In a timed IELTS practice test, a timer that drifts or freezes destroys the one thing students came for: a realistic run. So I engineered the exam engine to be accurate and dependable, not an afterthought bolted onto a form.
I used AI where it removes a bottleneck, not as a gimmick. Writing feedback is the slowest part of IELTS prep, so I built AI-assisted evaluation (Google Gemini) to give students fast, useful first-pass feedback — freeing teachers for the higher-value coaching only a human can do.
I brought the whole journey into one place. Practice, assessment, live classes, and payments live in one multi-role system, so nobody has to leave to get to the next step.
What I built
A multi-role platform with separate student and teacher dashboards, AI-assisted writing evaluation, speaking assessments, a timed exam engine, online courses, Zoom-based live classes, Razorpay payments, OTP authentication, and an admin CMS for courses and content.
The outcome
Students practise on an engine that behaves like the real exam, teachers spend their time teaching instead of triaging, and the academy runs its entire IELTS programme from one system.
Built with
React, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, Google Gemini, and Razorpay.
